Different Systems Can Use Different UV Strategies.
ArmorFlex UV's aliphatic, UV-resistant chemistry is part of the ArmorFlex UV roofing material itself. FlexArmor's current corporate installation description separately identifies a final UV-protective topcoat.
Separate Exterior UV-Protective Finish
The point is not that this approach is automatically bad. It is simply a different way of handling long-term exterior exposure.
Aliphatic UV-Resistant Roofing Material
For an Arizona RV roof, Highroad wanted the UV-resistant chemistry to be part of the roofing material itself.
The Topcoat Is Identified as a Maintenance Item.
FlexArmor's corporate marketing currently describes the roof as requiring no annual roof treatments or caulking. Its authorized Arizona applicator separately identifies the exterior topcoat as the system's maintenance item.
The Arizona applicator currently estimates that topcoat at approximately 10–15 years and says that when gray roofing material becomes visible through the white finish, it is time for a new white topcoat.
Published guidance can differ depending on what is being called “maintenance.” Read the details, not just the headline.
Does this mean every FlexArmor roof must be recoated at exactly 10 years?
No. That would overstate the source. The authorized Arizona applicator currently describes the topcoat as the maintenance item and gives a 10–15-year estimate. Actual timing can depend on condition and exposure.
Does seeing gray mean the FlexArmor roof has failed?
No. The Arizona applicator's guidance is that visible gray indicates the separate white exterior finish has worn enough that a new white topcoat is appropriate. That is not the same thing as saying the underlying roof has failed.
ArmorThane Publishes 12,000 Hours of ASTM G154 QUV Performance.
ArmorFlex UV's technical data reports 12,000 hours of ASTM G154 accelerated QUV exposure with reported color change of ∆E < 1.0.

Accelerated laboratory test hours should not be converted directly into a guaranteed number of outdoor Arizona years.
Know What the Numbers Actually Measure.
Highroad publishes the named ArmorFlex UV test methods rather than mixing unlike measurements.
Important: FlexArmor currently advertises 600%+ elongation and also uses the phrase “3,500 psi tear strength.” Highroad does not put FlexArmor's 3,500-psi marketing number beside ArmorFlex UV's 3,450-psi ASTM D412 tensile result as if they are the same test. They are not demonstrated to be the same measurement.

Thickness is only one part of roof quality, but it should still be stated clearly.

Extreme 200 targets 13 mils more than FlexArmor's currently published approximately 187-mil thickness — about 7% more target film thickness. That is a thickness comparison, not a claim of 7% more strength.
A Permanent Roof Should Begin With Knowing What's Underneath It.
Highroad's Permanent 100 and Extreme 200 are complete tear-off systems. The old exterior roofing is removed so the deck can be exposed, inspected and repaired where necessary before the new ArmorFlex UV roof is installed.

What Does “Lifetime No-Leak” Actually Mean?
The headline warranty duration is only part of the warranty. Registration, exclusions, modification requirements and claim procedures matter too.
FlexArmor's Current Written Warranty Includes
- Initial warranty registration within 30 days.
- New-owner re-registration within 30 days after transfer.
- Periodic inspection of the roof and seals.
- Claim filing through the portal or an authorized location.
- Delivery to an authorized service center within 30 days of initial claim filing.
- Additions are not covered unless brought back to a Service Center for resealing.
The Written Warranty Also Lists Conditions / Exclusions
- Roof cuts or drilling for added devices if authorized resealing requirements are not met.
- Accident damage if authorized resealing requirements are not met.
- Roof service by unauthorized persons.
- Failed coax rubber boots.
- A/C gasket failure.

Highroad comparison rule: Highroad offers 15-year, 25-year and lifetime transferable roof warranties depending on the selected system. Compare the actual written terms of any warranty — not just the word “lifetime.”
