COMPLETE RV ROOF REPLACEMENT

Permanent 100: A Complete RV Roof Replacement Built to Last.

Don't just cover the old roof. Build a new one.

Permanent 100 removes the existing exterior roofing, exposes the roof deck, addresses damage where required, and finishes with a 100-mil target build of ArmorThane ArmorFlex UV aliphatic polyurea.

WHY PERMANENT 100 EXISTS

Your Replacement Roof Doesn't Have to Copy the Factory Roof.

Most mass-produced RVs use flexible TPO or EPDM roofing because those systems are lightweight, economical, fast to install and practical for large-scale production.

That does not make factory membranes bad. It means the manufacturer was balancing cost, weight, production speed and required performance across thousands of RVs.

Your RV was built to a factory production specification. Your replacement roof doesn't have to be.

When Highroad replaces your roof, we're not trying to build hundreds of RVs that month. We're building your roof.

RV roof deck replacement work during complete roof replacement
Why do RV manufacturers use TPO and EPDM?

Traditional single-ply roofing works well for mass production. Manufacturers need a roofing system that can be installed efficiently across thousands of units while meeting cost, weight and performance targets. That is a different decision from replacing one aging RV roof for the next stage of its life.

COMPLETE TEAR-OFF · DECK INSPECTION · PREPARATION

A Permanent Roof Should Begin With Knowing What's Underneath It.

Permanent 100 begins by removing the existing exterior roofing so the actual roof deck can be seen before the new roof goes on.

1

Remove

Existing exterior roofing and incompatible materials are removed.

2

Inspect

The exposed deck and surrounding substrate are evaluated for soft areas, moisture damage, delamination, failed repairs and other problems.

3

Repair

Damaged decking or other problem areas are addressed where required for the individual RV.

4

Prepare

Surfaces are cleaned and prepared for proper adhesion, including required priming.

5

Detail

Edges, front and rear transitions, penetrations and rooftop components receive focused preparation.

6

Spray

ArmorFlex UV is professionally spray-applied to the Permanent 100 target film build.

Covering damaged wood doesn't make it a new roof.

Why does surface preparation matter so much?

Coating performance depends heavily on the condition and preparation of the substrate underneath it. A premium material sprayed over poor preparation is still a poorly built roof. The better question is not only “What coating are you using?” but also “What was done underneath it before the coating was sprayed?”

WHAT IS ARMORFLEX UV?

Not Paint. Not a Roll-On Roof Coating.

Permanent 100 uses ArmorThane ArmorFlex UV, a 100%-solids aliphatic polyurea professionally applied with heated, two-component high-pressure spray equipment.

ArmorFlex UV is not painted, brushed or rolled onto the roof. The components meet and mix at the spray gun and cure rapidly to create the exterior roofing surface in place.

BUILT FOR OUTDOOR UV EXPOSURE

For Arizona, Highroad Wanted UV Resistance Built Into the Roofing Material Itself.

ArmorFlex UV is aliphatic polyurea. ArmorThane reports 12,000 hours of accelerated UV weathering testing with very little reported color change.

Long-term UV stability matters on an Arizona RV roof.

Accelerated laboratory test hours should not be translated directly into a guaranteed number of outdoor Arizona years.

A DELIBERATE MATERIAL BUILD

Why 100 Mils?

Permanent 100 is Highroad's balanced premium complete-replacement roof. It combines complete tear-off and deck inspection with a substantial ArmorFlex UV material build without requiring the maximum 200-mil package.

Highroad isn't trying to recreate the roof your RV originally had. Permanent 100 is an aftermarket upgrade.

100 MILS TARGET ARMORFLEX UV FILM BUILD

Approximately 0.100 inch target film build.

Why 100 mils instead of Extreme 200?

Highroad offers two complete-replacement protection levels. Permanent 100 targets 100 mils of ArmorFlex UV. Extreme 200 targets 200 mils — twice the Permanent 100 target film build. Permanent 100 is not a compromised Extreme 200. It is a different protection level for owners who want complete tear-off, deck inspection, premium aliphatic polyurea and a long-term transferable warranty without purchasing Highroad's maximum material build.

How does 100 mils compare with a factory membrane?

A current factory TPO example can be around 35 mils. Permanent 100 targets about 2.86 times the film thickness of that specific 35-mil example. That is a film-thickness comparison only — not a claim that Permanent 100 is 2.86 times stronger.

PROFESSIONAL INDOOR APPLICATION

Not a Driveway Coating Job.

Permanent 100 is professionally installed indoors using heated two-component proportioning equipment, heated hose, high-pressure spray equipment, controlled masking and film-build verification.

  • Better control of wind and overspray
  • Reduced exposure to dust and weather interruptions
  • More controlled masking and preparation
  • Consistent professional application environment
  • Quality-control access throughout the job

ROOF DETAILS · MAINTENANCE · FUTURE MODIFICATIONS

A Roof Is More Than the Big Flat Area.

Roof problems often develop around air conditioners, vents, skylights, plumbing penetrations, antennas, roof edges, front and rear transitions and mounted equipment. Permanent 100 includes detailed preparation around these areas.

Low maintenance does not mean zero inspection. Owners should still inspect rooftop components, A/C gaskets, antenna boots, physical damage, storm impacts and accessories added after installation.

The sprayed roof eliminates much of the traditional lap-sealant maintenance associated with a conventional membrane roof, but rooftop components can still age or be damaged.

Planning Future Roof Work?

Permanent 100 does not prevent future solar, A/C replacement, vent replacement, antennas, fans, satellite equipment or other rooftop upgrades.

Tell Highroad before someone cuts into or modifies the sprayed roof. That allows us to recommend the proper way to protect the roof system and warranty.

Can ArmorFlex UV be repaired?

Yes. Properly prepared polyurea can be locally repaired. The correct repair process depends on the type of damage, surface condition, contamination, age, location and type of modification. Highroad should inspect the area and determine the appropriate repair method.

HIGHROAD WARRANTY

25-Year Transferable Warranty.

The company that builds the roof stands behind the roof.

Permanent 100 includes a 25-year transferable Highroad RV Roofing warranty, subject to the written warranty terms, exclusions and transfer requirements.

ArmorThane provides the material technology. Highroad builds and warranties the completed RV roof.

OPTIONAL ARMORFOAM INSULATION

The Best Time to Improve Insulation May Be While the Roof Is Already Open.

On qualifying Permanent 100 projects, Highroad can evaluate whether the roof construction allows installation of ArmorThane ArmorFoam closed-cell spray polyurethane foam in accessible roof cavities.

Approx. R-6.5 per inch through the foam Approx. R-13 through 2 inches of foam

Those values describe the foam itself, not the complete RV roof assembly. Whole-roof performance also depends on framing, existing insulation, decking, thermal bridges and penetrations.

Reflect more solar energy outside. Resist more heat transfer underneath.

PERMANENT 100 FAQ

Quick Answers.

Is Permanent 100 just a coating over my old roof?

No. Permanent 100 is a complete replacement system. The existing exterior roofing is removed so the roof deck can be exposed and evaluated.

What happens if you find damaged wood?

The exposed deck is evaluated after tear-off. Damaged areas are repaired as required for the individual RV before the new roofing system is completed.

Why choose 100 mils instead of Extreme 200?

Permanent 100 is Highroad's balanced premium complete-replacement option. Extreme 200 is available for owners who want twice the Permanent 100 target ArmorFlex UV film build and a lifetime transferable warranty.

Will I still have to maintain lap sealant all over the roof?

Permanent 100 is designed to eliminate much of the traditional lap-sealant maintenance associated with conventional flexible membrane roofing. Rooftop equipment, gaskets, physical damage and later modifications still require normal inspection.

Can insulation be added?

On qualifying complete roof replacements, Highroad can evaluate accessible roof cavities for optional ArmorFoam closed-cell insulation.

Can the warranty transfer to a new owner?

Yes. Permanent 100's 25-year Highroad warranty is intended to be transferable, subject to the written warranty terms and transfer requirements.
